Encouragement in the Midst of Heartache
It seems like these days, the world is struggling. “Wars and rumors of wars”, parents turning on their kids, kids turning on their parents, riots, racism, natural disasters, terrorism, and the list goes on. It’s crazy how depressing that can become. It’s crazy how scary that can become. At the time of this writing, Houston just received 50+ inches of rain and was flooded. People lost their houses. Worse than that, people lost their lives. And there are many more examples of how the world is struggling, not just in the US, but all of the world.
How do you get encouraged from that? It’s so easy to look at the circumstance of our time and either become fearful and/or depressed. I’m sure a lot of other emotions could be had too. But really, how can we be encouraged?
The bible says that in these days, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Do you know that all you have to do is call on the name of the God who created the universe and you will be saved? A heartfelt, humble heart, calling on the name of the Lord will bring more peace to a situation than anything this world has to offer. Maybe you’ve experienced tragedy first hand. Maybe you’re hearing of all this stuff going on. Call on the name of Jesus.
